Dan,

A lot of beginner chartists use alphachart.com.

It is a nice site with tutorial and etc. Occasionally I looked technical indicators and tried to retro-fit with historical data. For a short-term reading I like DMI, and for intermediate/long term trends I would look at accum/dist. and OBV.

A fun thing--as well as educational--to do would be to look at all major indicators for networkers stocks in the time frame of February/March, and tried to verify the validity of those indicators by comparing with what actually transpired....I found the above-identified ones gave the most reliable signals.

Personally I had used OBV to sniff out turn-around stories long before the fundy improvements were obvious; BAY and SYBS were among the examples.

Regards,
Ibexx

PS: I got all A's in statistical quantum mechanics in grad school, but still don't understand a thing about this subject. (I could take tests though.)

To make it worse, I never failed to break out in cold sweat everytime this topic came to mind. <g>
