I was very pleased to hear some songbirds this morning, but I am sure many of the overwintering birds didn't make it through the extended period of snow cover.

It's actually sunny here today -- we've been in an extended inversion and hence fogged in -- and it would be warm enough to sit outside and read if not for the chill from the snow still on the ground.
