I think Obama did the right thing in avoiding getting into foreign policy publicly since the election.

But they are now saying, according to the Pelosi interview today, that Gitmo may not be closed DURING THE FULL 4 YEAR TERM!

Clearly, Obama will not be shutting down operations in Iraq one second sooner than GWB would have. Bush's actions have saved millions of lives in Africa, a path down which Obama will certainly want to continue.

The big question is whether Obama will foolishly engage Iran. If he does, that will be a break from GWB, and a huge mistake. It remains to be seen.

Basically, there isn't a lot to suggest we'll see much different -- as it SHOULD be. You never want to have erratic changes in foreign policy.

I believe Obama is learning quickly that he can't do most of the crap he said he would.
