Hearsay,Buddhist Monks,Chancellor of Exchequer,Greenspan,Rueben.. Yes Barbara they are all talking to their couterparts in these various Asian countries, particularly in Hong Kong to calm them down and possibly giving them advise as to what actions if any to take. I heard recently in Thailand they orchestrated national prayer on TV lead by Buddhist monks so that their fiscal and monetary woes should just go away, and I am not lying. The only thing was the Buddhist Monks'were chanting the prayers in Sanskrit and the people didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Since British has a close releationship with Hong Kong the chancellor of exchequer is in touch with the people of financial clout and import in Hong Kong advising them etc, and so are Greenspan and Rueben. The problems in Hong Kong & Hang Seng are maily high interest rates, overblown real-estate market, and above all the 'fear' of a currency devaluation like the other asian countries.According to 'experts','gurus' and various&sundry 'pundits' this is a temporary phenomenon at best and soon people will come to their senses or so they hope. Now that Hong Kong is part of China, and China being in 'good' financial shape (the Renminbi is holding up pretty well),puts China in a precarious situtation as they do not know what to do, having told the British and the world that they will not interfere in Hong Kong for 50 years hence. If the worst comes,China can of course interfere and put all this nonsense to a stop in a 'cotton- pickin''New York minitue' or shall I say 'Bejing minitue'. What will all this goings-on in Asia do to us here in the U.S,lemme see,I think this will create a bit of a deflationary pressure on our economy with cheap imports coming in from Asia and all, then we can expect a bit of slow down in the multinationals sales and earnings, we can also expect the FED to do nothing about the interest rate as there won't much of an inflation in the offing,in short not much, but I can't say that for Japan,as they have the largest investment in these countries than anyone else in the world.Poor Japan, man they have been going through a recession for the last 4 or 5 years and there is no reprieve in sight!!!!!!! Mind you these are all hearsay, personal thoughts and such so buy this at your own peril. Now you are sorry you asked me,aren't you?
