I completely agree with that. In 2000, I thought, so what if Bush wins, my TX relatives tell me he's an asshole, but he wasn't a terrible governor. By 2004, I volunteered for Kerry and went to another state to work for his election, although I didn't even LIKE Kerry - but by then I was terrified of Bush.

The Bush 2004 voters tell me that he was the superior choice at the time, that Bush's victory was the (D)'s fault for fielding Kerry. I want to know how Kerry could possibly have been worse than the worst president in our history? How did they allow a real Vietnam Vet to be swift-boated by a cowardly guy that supported the war while he dodged Vietnam through privileged family connections?
