So by quoting ben franklin, are you saying that if bush admin use of "torture" actually helped prevent attacks for 8 years, you would prefer several 9/11s in lieu of that? I agree with Franklin, but that doesn't not mean that I would stand still as terrorists attacked us. There are other ways to protect the nation than to violate the ethics of the nation's founding principles. PS what about overall homeland security--must agree its much improved than it was on 9/11 even without questionable methods? What a remarkable accomplishment.
