I checked out Oregon's library and did not get the hits I needed. I got hits from Washington's.

Perhaps it is because Oregon was already a state in the period I'm interested in, while Washington was a territory whose boundaries were constantly changing. I can't imagine what the connection might be. Part of the story did take place in Oregon. I may just have to keep digging or "ask a librarian."
