The beauty of having borax and washing soda (soda ash, sodium carbonate) around is that we use them to raise the pH of the pool plus I use the washing soda in a diswashing formula.

A simple sugar, borax and cotton ball concoction placed at strategic points takes care of the ants like you wouldn't believe. You can use boric acid as well. Now you know what's inside a roach/ant motel.

Easy to save hundreds a year on that stuff plus it works better than prepackaged stuff.
