I think the beaches, shores and offshore regions of Florida should be covered with windmills as far as the eye can see. And the Everglades too.

Might be tough on the pelicans, spoonbills, egrets, and gulls, but screw 'em.

Seriously, a state with folks who object to wells within 50 miles of shore isn't gonna tolerate massive wind farms spoiling their views and killing their waterfowl. Who's kidding who?

Nice diversion but the point was that nuke plants work no better than wind without subsidies.

I still say that Pebble Beds, built in modular components and assembled on site would be feasible at a much cheaper prices. This is logical because just about anything built in modular form is cheaper than current methods.

Furthermore, they would provide baseload power, available 24x7x365, not just when the wind blows or the sun shines.
