Ron, I agree about trading for profits - money in your pocket is better than leaving money on the table. Heck, I've been trading this stock for 1/4 and 1/2 pts. for the past two weeks with much success. I even bought puts and calls because I wasn't sure which way the SEEK was going to go after earnings were released - still not sure!

I think its too early to peg Seek as not as competitive as the others players since we have not given the new managers a chance to fully implement their plan. So far SEEK has made all the right moves.

Yes, XCIT and YHOO have a better business models but I don't think it is set in stone. The internet is still in its infancy - the model could change a year from now as far as we know. The next couple of quarters will be real critical for SEEK. IMO

Do I worry about tops or corrections? Not really, because I move out of stocks fairly quick but having said that, I personally have left a lot of money on the table because I sold too quick - INTL comes to mind. I will probably ride SEEK for a while since the positive trend has not changed. When the overall trend changes then I will become a seller.

For anyone considering investing in an internet search engine company, you really owe it to yourself to read the articles off these links:

Now, I'm not trying to scare anyone off (shoot, I'm long on SEEK and MSFT myself), but Jesse Berst usually has a pretty good pulse on what's happening up in Redmond and in the rest of the software industry. Now, as far as MS coming out with something and slaughtering YHOO, XCIT, SEEK, etc., I'll remain skeptical until I see it. I've watched MS develop other products, have them fail, then they buy the competition: Quicken vs. MSMoney (whoops, this one backfired), FoxPro vs. Access, SourceSafe vs. MSDelta, FrontPage vs. BlackBeard. If I thought about it some more, I'm sure I could come up with others. The point is, don't panic, but do be cautious.
