He spoke about a return to old ideals of faith, unity, honesty, and virtue ... about struggling together to overcome the current crisis. The current crisis being multileveled but including a loss of trust, petty bickering, the economic failures, and war. We're all somewhat skeptical, you maybe more than some others but the proof will be in the pudding. Bush made an appeal to end petty partisanism but it got worse. Will the leftwingers who were jazzing Ten's queries about unity change their tune? If everyone has the attitude of, 'fine but not until I see the other guys go first,' then nothing changes ... well bad stuff gets worse if that is a change. A speech is just so many words in the air unless or until people take it upon themselves to move off their usual fat assed centers.
