"You think the dems and Obama want unity and the end of partisanship ??

I think most Americans say they want that because I observe them saying it. I also think 98% of all human beings thrive on enmity and conflict with one another, so they wont walk their talk. That's because I'm an even bigger skeptic than you. If I am wrong, this is one time I will enjoy having it proven for me.

I had to click my tongue when I heard Reverend Lowery make an anti-white joke at the end of his otherwise nice Benediction.

Same old politics. Both sides positioning for advantage regardless of what they call it. "Modernize" the rules if we deem fit to get our way. Not good change.

Hmm. Let's see, I seem to recall the (R)'s when THEY were making the rules and running the show, forcing the (D)'s to hold a hearing in a basement by not granting them a meeting place. Then, when the meeting was occurring, the (R)'s cut the power to the building.

So, GFY (R)'s!

Shortie, did you think the bitterness between the two sides would subside in one day? This bitterness has been building for over a decade and became much worse in the first 6 years of this decade. And the Republicans played a major role in developing this bitterness. So its going to take time to get over.

I was struck by something mentioned in the article posted today about the gas shortage in Europe. Serbia and Bosnia have been bitter enemies for years.....the Serbs are Christian and the Bosnians are half Muslim. When the gas got cut off two weeks ago, Bosnia was in much worse straits than Serbia so the Serbs decided to share their gas supplies with Bosnia. It is small acts like this one that will help the two countries to put to rest the bitterness of their past.
