Most people that work in regulation for the government end up at one of these big firms. Highly unlikely that you are going to bite the hand of your next employer, particularly when your paycheque is going to increase substantially.

You are both right. Corruption is functional. It occurs when an underling who generally knows what is right and wrong keep his job by keeping silent. Reagan tried to short circuit this with the whistelblower law. Whistleblowers are not co-operators, so are branded. Rewards will never be enough. We are a race of social ticks and social dogs, and will forever fail because of our endemic social corruption. You can KA, or stay poh, or go into your own business, and then you KA to your customers, the 100 government funded SIGs, city, state and federal government. I guarantee you that within 3 years you will be offshore. They know how to attract disgruntled Amerikan money. How to steal it once it gets there too. Latin American, right wing and left wing dictators will look good. As least the corruption rule book is written on the back of parking tickets, unlike here. Having said that, the maze of cronies and corrupt officials you get everywhere make you want to go to another planet. If you run a pubco you are in between real corruption, bandits, unions, functional corruption, SIGS, narcos, overzealous anti-this-or-that functionaries, directorial cliques, lawyers, high taxes, irate/stupid investors, crooked brokers, idiot brokers, market blow outs, and nature's tricks and traps. Good luck Jim. If this tape burns before it gets to the end and vital parts are left out read the fine print. Only abject failure and lifelong penury can be reasonably guaranteed. EC<:-}
