"Parts sales directly to Iran after the revolution were prohibited but parts were available."

From where, i-node? Iran and the US were the only ones who fielded the F14. It isn't like it shared parts with other planes.

"In addition, many parts can be custom manufactured."

If you have the technology to do it. It isn't like you can make engine parts in your garage. Not to mention the avionics.

The only two countries on Earth that fly (flew) the F-14 are the US and Iran. So, there AREN'T "parts available all over".

Reagan supplied Iran with F-14 parts, TOW missiles, HAWK anti-aircraft missiles and other stuff in his arms for hostages arrangement with them.
