Ahh the drive-ins - everyone I know, including cars I rode in, crammed kids in the trunk to get in. Nobody ever got caught. We had a place called the Flats, a clearing off Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills, where we used to hang out. The guys would huddle over their cars at first and us girls would gossip. The cars would be parked in a circle front ends pointed in. Then we'd turn the radios up and have a dance in the dirt. Always a big deal when one of the guys got a new car.
