The girls won 2-1 and advance to the semi-finals on Monday. They have also qualified for the State playoffs which begin in November. It wasn't a shut-out, but for this first time this season, Fox Chapel was outshot be their opponent. Fox Chapel took an early 1-0 lead which they held at halftime, in spite of being oushot 12-6. Upper St Clair tied the score 8 minutes into the second half, but Fox Chapel regained the lead with about 16 minutes to play. Nicole made 12 saves, two of which had the fans ooing and ahhing. Fox Chapel will play #1 ranked Hamton, who they know they can beat. In other quarter final play, Penn Trafford beat Mt. Lebanon 2-0 and Norwin beat Bethel Park 3-1. Penn Trafford will play Norwin on Monday also.

Nicole's Pittsburgh Striker team did well. They have 5 players on Penn Trafford, 3 on Fox Chapel, 2 on Hampton, and 1 on Norwin (11 of the 15 Pittsburgh players are on the final four teams).

The Post Gazette also did well. Their top 4 ranked teams all made the semi's.
