In addition, Obama is very detail oriented.......unlike Bush who didn't like detail and planning.

Bill Clinton's biggest problem, according to many, is that he didn't know how to delegate very well. Those who are extremely detail oriented often have problems in this area. A president simply cannot do it all. The job is too big.

FDR was a great detail person, e.g., when he was Assistant Secretary of the Navy during WWI. He really knew how to get stuff done. But when he became president, he was also a reasonably good delegator.

Not everyone can do that. Great detail people sometimes have trouble letting go of the details (I think McNamara was an example of this, although some would disagree).

Sometimes, detail people end up being great on details then doing a lousy job all the way around because he can't get past the details. I've seen many business people brought down by this trait. Hopefully, Obomber will be able to manage it.
