"he represents is a part of Occupied México"

All Mexico is occupied. One way or another. As far as the Basques are concerned, France and Spain are occupied too.

Presently and for the next 1000 years or less, that part of the US will be occupied by people who wish to remain lower 48. The choice, if were theirs alone, would remain the same.

Remember that California and other territories, voted for independence from Spain and finally for union all by their baby selves. No military action was necessary. And Texas by and large thought shoulder to shoulder that Santa Anna was the interloper, not JB and company. It looked better and more democratic and certain than M City by far, or Pancho Villa, and will for a while.

Until of course Mexico's economy surpasses that of the US. That may or may not be that long. Certainly their underground economy is very healthy. Spain by the way on the books at least has a better economy overall than Canada.

By and large we humans generally divide ourselves into two groups, conservative and liberal, using dictionary definitions. I have noticed this phenomonon for 40 years and do not pretend to understand why:

Both liberal and conservative are pretty much straight foreward antithetical ideas, for all practical purposes. And people of either persuasion pretty much follow the dictionary definitions:

Conservative, is the idea of "conserving the staus quo" abiding by the cultural norms and mores passed down through the ages.

It might be noted that cultures are always antiquated, to varying degress, as they are all created in the past. In the present day of our cultural explosive evolution the degree of antiquation becomes increasingly important to the very suvival of our species.

E.G. The problems we are having with the middle east is primarily a problem of our dealing with a 13th century culture in the nuclear age.

liberals on the other hand are simply more open to change and attendant policies.

My own opinion is that if we, as a species, do not learn to modernize our thinking very quickly we will doom ourselves to extinction.
