Yes, we shall... the only hope is that the severity of the recession itself will prevent him from carrying out those things he wants to do... a stimulus package of $750 billion to "create jobs" will not work... that money will not enter the economy for another year or two... this will not create anything but false hope and severe disappointment, it will only deepen the recession... the federal government can't create jobs except temporary government jobs, busy work for laborers, but not real jobs that are productive and would grow the economy... if he wants to stimulate the economy immediately, he could waive federal income tax withholdings for the first 6 months... that would amount to a $700 billion reduction in tax revenues (about the same amount as his stimulus package) and it would immediately encourage spending and hiring... if everyone knew they could keep their tax money for the first 6 months, I can guarantee you that everyone would work overtime, take two jobs, do anything possible to get to work in order to make as much as possible... all the collective productivity would certainly accelerate and stimulate the economy... and there would be no need for handouts, no bailouts, no wasteful spending, no spread the wealth around nonsense... that's just one way it can be done, but this is not the way obama and his group thinks... they think big government, big brother...
