Sure it's material. This industry is in play. Also, due to current market sentiment (HANG SENG, overvaluation of certain internet stocks, etc.) companies like Corel (questionable profitability and declining market share?), venture-backed companies not yet profitable but flush with cash, all Fortune 1000+ companies desiring to be competitive into the next millennium (or the next quarter) or we should say everyone other than Microsoft, should be looking for strategic acquisitions and this is a particularly and uniquely ripe, rich and opportune time to be acquiring. SoftQuad appears to be many company's crown-jewel acquisition. Consummation of the Kurzweil agreement, one way or the other, will determine exactly how attractive/undervalued SoftQuad is. We cannot see how this stock is being bought or sold while this issue remains unresolved. HoTMetaL, WebFiler, et al could, however, exact/represent a considerable value/price to the right company. If SQ's new management team can create critical mass fast enough for WebFiler/HoTMetaL concomitant with significant profitability they should create shareholder value which would exceed any short-term spin-off('in-play') strategy, all in our opinion. We are also confident Punk Ziegel, Volpe Brown and Yorkton are (should be) thinking the same thing.
