Will xrays are stopped by hard bony materials and that difference in
material shows up. There are Cancers which for soft cysts like or excretions from cysts that are not revealed with xrays period.
It takes MRI technology to reveal these cancers. Ultrasound may miss them as well. These cancers absorb a revealer such as Galodinium and show up on MRI.
Another issue is radiation. Xrays are mutagenic and dangerous. thats why they only recommend them for use with older women past the age of 40.
MRI is safe and can be used for women with high risk of cancer even through their childbearing years I think its safe for prengant women too or women who may be pregnant and don't know it.
Digital xrays are much more dangerous than regular xrays even though they mention it takes less time.. I don't know if they compress the breasts and spread cancer around like regular xrays do? YOu won't find any doctors operating on any patients under xrays... but MRI is safe and you can be scanning as you biopsy with no fear to patient or doctors.. So they are competition to Aurora but we don't know or I don't know that they are show stoppers at all... Aurora once the merger goes through can be outfitted to perform other specialized scans such as prostrate and ovaries etc... so there are other applications...that can be developed as well...
OBTW the resolution of digital xrays is no better than the current resolution for the Aurora MRI system from what I read.

I don't think you can use digital xrays with scarred breasts or breast that have implants etc.. an MRI scan like that can take 20 minutes you can't do this safely using digital xrays at all... any detailed slice by slice protocol would put you way over the safe limit in xray exposure if there was such a thing. No one knows what combination of radiation and other variables result in the stimulation of cancer in humans..it can be as little as sun rays exposure... But there is agreement on an upper end thresold for what is considered a fatal amount of radiation.
