I hope I am wrong, but there are three sets of elections this year in Iraq. From what I hear there is a high likliehood of violence expected both as a tool to discourage turnout or to otherwise express frustration with the process. We'll have to see. If nothing happens, great. But it would be naive now to declare Iraq "won" as some seem to do. Let's get through 2009 and seat the new government first.
