Roubini warns US banking system effectively insolvent

Yeah, I think I posted another article about that before. And it's really the world banking system... at least so it appears. We're talking depression stuff. I wonder if there will be a run on the banks, probably not with FDIC... without FDIC my 'bank money' would be in my mattress.


Of course we don't know how accurate Roubini's loss assumptions are.....its one thing to predict the subprime meltdown......a number of people did in addition to him....its quite another to evaluate the solvency of the American banking system.....esp. when you are in academia.

Why? The governments will print enough to cover any withdrawals.
The real danger is if people start refusing to take printed money and demand barter, precious metal coins or gold.
