JTA, You were around on some other thread when i asked x the unknown or ionesco or whatver that idiots name was. She actually took the position she would rather witness the death of her child than violate miranda. I am willing to admint bush/cheney went too far. I will give them that and the smug dick might actually be a war criminal by some definition or at minimum in violation of some set of rules or another. But my question implictly accepts that there were abuses and seeks to minimize it by setting a standard where torture if never acceptable or legal would be acceptable by any civilized people in certain situations. Sure its a slipper slope and obviously wheelchair cheney did in fact slip but thats no reason not to protect the country while minimizing such slippage in the future. I suspect you agree. Some righties seem to want to torture anyone and everyone and some leftys would rather see their kids die. The idiots in extremis are just that, idiots.
