Yeah, based on what we'd seen of him in his rise to the Senate. It was pretty obvious by 2006 that he'd be running for President at some point.

Also, Josh Lyman happens to be based on Rahm Emanuel.

It isn't because you may be watching to much tv and the line between fiction and reality is blurring??

Caroline Kennedy Drops Bid for Open Senate Seat

Kennedy's bid to replace HRC has to have been one of the worst rollouts I have seen in a while. You would think her family hadn't been in politics over the last 100 years. I can only conclude that she thought she was a shoo in and its only now starting to dawn on her that's not the case. She's lost a lot of credibility.
