Ultratech Stepper management hosted a conference call for
semiconductor analysts on the morning of October 23.
During the call, management provided details of the
company's backlog on a geographical basis. Here it is:

56% United States
30% Europe
14% Asia Pacific

Obviously the company plans to expand the Asia-Pacific portions of
the business with market share penetration in both the Ultrabeam
and Verdant Divisions in the future.

Jon:

Your are not frequently prone to long posts, however I thought the question about the relationship between Hong Kong and US markets was a good one. I have no clue, except general thoughts about currencies and cheaper labor costs overseas. You seem knowledgable in these areas, so if you have time, I too would be interested in your thoughts. Obviously many people around the world understand something that I do not understand inasmuch as markets around the world went down. Now today, judging from the Globex, we will have the reverse of what we had yesterday.
