Hello P1976... Obama as an empty suit... Maybe but I'm more concerned with the large number of Washington insiders he has brought in... withholding judgement for now.

But I do think he has shown himself to be more than an empty suit. If nothing else the tight, well organized and efficient campaign shows some management skill.

Check out the first day and today... the second day. Froze senior staff wages... I like that one..
............

After a first full day in office that included retaking the presidential oath; seeing Hillary Clinton confirmed as Secretary of State; issuing two executive orders and three presidential memoranda on transparency, lobbying, salary freezes, ethics and presidential record-keeping; calling Middle East leaders and appointing an envoy to the region; meeting with economic advisors about the stimulus; convening a meeting with the Secretary of Defense and other senior military advisors about Iraq and Afghanistan ... after that first day, President Obama is going to ease off, it looks like.

All he has on deck for today, according to the White House press office, is a morning briefing with economic advisors; a meeting with retired military officers to "discuss proposed exectuive orders on interrogation policy;" a private meeting at the State Department with his new Secretary of State, Vice President Biden and National Security Advisors James Jones; and an address to State Department employees tomorrow afternoon about renewing diplomatic efforts. It appears he will most likely issue three executive orders that will order the closure of Guantanamo, forbid torture and establish new guidelines for treatment of detainees.

.............

Bush spent over 900 days at his ranch or at Camp David, now theres an empty suit.

Rgds
