I would do what i had to do and suffer the legal consequences later. The problem is the Left, under Obama's leadership, will have you imprisoned for life. While in clear cut "Jack Bauer Moments" your decision will be so clear that you do what you have to do, there are other situations where it isn't so clear and you need some flexibility. This is kind of Carter-esque to me, thinking of a time when Carter didn't understand the threats against us and literally FIRED CIA agents who had taken 20 years to get into the positions they were in. Just a total lack of understanding of the issues led Carter to this. I think Obama's lack of understanding of the issues has led him to this position on Rendition and so-called torture.

a school is threatened with a chemical attack. Gunmen in protective gear prevent an assault. You have leader in custody. He has the code that will stop release of the chemical remotely. 300 childrens lives are at stake. What you don't do is base the law of the land on some wacky hypothetical. Otherwise we would all be driving 5 miles per hour. If the above situation occurred the person in charge would most likely break the law, and any judge/jury in the land would acquit.
