Well, I see two different problems. One is that they've redefined things that clearly are NOT torture (e.g., loud music, exposure, sleep deprivation) as torture. IMO, that would also include waterboarding, but one can understand the argument. Secondly, when you exclude all these techniques, you put Americans in danger, which to me is a pretty big deal. When you eliminate the use of techniques that we know have saved innocent American lives, you need to be called to account for it. I just don't think it can be adequately explained.
