Taiwan Semi Q4 Revs Down 31%; EPS Down 62%

Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) reported Q4 revenue of NT$64.56 billion, down 31.2% from a year earlier. Net income of NT$12.45 billion was down 63.9%; EPS of NT$0.48 or 7 cents U.S. per ADS was down 62.3%, in line with Street estimates. Revenue was down 30.6% sequentially from the third quarter.

The contract chip manufacturer said the fourth quarter saw a sharp decline in the demand for semiconductors across all applications.

If there ever was a time to have a "kitchen sink" quarter, now is it. Get as much of the bad stuff out as possible.

Microsoft FY Q2 Misses

It seems that our place not rolling out Vista is not an analomy. It appears that many are skipping it until the next rollout of the new Windows 7. We have 2000 terminals and each year of delays saves us over $200K in in licensing fees to MSFT.
