I haven't turned my JAZ off in a year; always ready to have a cartridge popped in. I imagine ZIPs are the same. Its probably the turning OFF and ON that wears 'em out.

*** An off-topic question. ***

I am away in Dallas from Friday, Oct 31 through the whole of the next trading week. Apart from my core IOM, I am cash rich at the moment. Where should I park my money if not in E*TRADE's good ol' MM account?

RE: Turn Off Original Zip?

>> I just bought a Zip Original a few weeks back and my question to you or anyone is: Do you leave it on forever or what? <<

I just leave mine on forever. If I had enough plug-ins on my power console, I would put it on there so I could easily turn it on and off, but I don't so it's plugged into a power strip that I never turn off. I've never had problems with it.

I've heard FIDO's point about wearing things out by turning them off and on too much, too.
