"...and causal dining outlets like Applebee's and Cheesecake Factory." I walked home on Friday at dinner time -- 6pm -- passing about a dozen very nice looking small cafes and restaurants in the U-district Seattle. Two had one table or customer; the rest were completely empty. Last night on my way home, a new restaurant near my home was completely empty at 6pm with the waitress sitting at a window near the front door looking out dejectedly. Bad days ahead for these places, I'm afraid.
