UK long-dated Gilts got hammered over the past week, as did the perpetual war bond.

You can see how this is operating. First all the safety capital around the world fled into all sovereign debt. Then when EM started caving in, the capital fled to senior sovereign debt. But the UK hammered that thesis this week. Now global capital is hiding in the final hidey-hole: USD and US sovereign debt. This is just the penultimate stop before the final destination: collapse of US Treasuries, and the flight to Gold and Silver.

Sovereign debt of all kinds will be toast when the UK BKs. or Spain. Or Ireland. But especially the UK.

Massive repercussions for everyone.

I'm starting to make plans for Christmas in London next year. vbg.
