The prognosis seems better than Crohn's. No medical malady of te GI tract is to be taken lightly.

When my children were born their mother worked for gastroenterologists. She suspected one of them had some GI issue. I remember going to the appointment. Her employers did not do Pedi-GI.

She described the symptoms including describing the stools in great detail. The doctor asked a few questions and gave is considered opinion. She asked if he was going to examine the child.

The doctor said it was not necessary as the most likely answer was transitory and it would go away on its own.
