"It is ridiculous to assert that someone who is traveling there is doing so for the purpose of pursuing child prostitutes" I didn't assert it. I just raised the possibility. An estimated 30 percent of the tourists going to the DR are doing it for the sex trade. Given that about a third of the prostitutes are children, that means 10 percent are hitting on kids. So it is far from rare there.
