Did you actually read that article? They weren't very pro-abortion at all. In fact, they made it universally illegal. That did shift somewhat later with respect to Jews and eugenics. However, if an abortion was performed for eugenics reasons, the woman had to be sterilized. Abortions were still illegal for most Germans.
