Ted, > There are very few people of color who belong to the GOP. So how can that be a problem when it comes to racial reconciliation? Just keeping it real, Ten.

Because all Democrats have to do is ostracize any minority person who "jumps" to the other side.

I have said before, and I suspect many liberals would agree, there is absolutely nothing wrong with people of color espousing a conservative philosophy. Its when they join a party with racist undertones that makes me wonder where their heads are at.

They don't have to do a damn thing to help blacks, for example, reverse the high school drop-out rate in California. Why bother with tough love solutions when blacks will still vote (D)? Just keep trying the same failed liberal education policies over and over, hoping for a different result every time.

Why do you criticize liberal policies when they seem to be working? We have more people of color who are well educated and successful than ever before. So successful that one of them has become president of the entire country.

Republicans want instant gratification; hence their love of 'tough love'. Sometimes the 'tougher' approach is one that takes a long time to bear fruit. Are we there yet? Of course not. We will have to keep trying until we get there. It may mean that we stick with some programs that are working while we tweak others or come up with new ones. This is not a science but rather an art.
