For the money, this will cover most of the territory except metal and leave you money for a good amp. The LP isn't much good for folksy rocky stuff .

Best to go and play a couple at your local GC.

Mostly I play a home brew tele made from Warmoth parts with Duncan Broadcasters and 1967 Guild Starfire IV with Guild mini humbuckers which has taken the place of the Epi Sheraton here.

Oh my you need a BIG amp. The smallest should be a Crate 100 watt, or something like that. The larger your speakers the more powerful you will sound for folks.
