They were kidnapped, hair and beard shaved, beaten up, and then taken to the outskirts of town and sent on their way. Ah yes, the good old days when proud, patriotic God-fearin' folk defended the American way of life and all our freedom and democracy by committing felony assault on strangers with no due process, and no legal accountability. And people stood up and cheered. RIP, good old days. Whenever I am in Texas and I see an interracial couple out in public with a little kid in tow, I smile inside at how even stubborn places can change over time.
