I have long thought of planting the Quercus Suber despite the fact it will not thrive here just because I love the stuff it protects.

I would imagine that more of the synthetic stoppers will be used as wine production increases. The deep recession we are entering may play havoc on global trade.

The other comment is that most wine clubs sell wine at much higher margins than the average wine store. Most wines they get are sold at what appear to be reasonable prices but the wine tends ot be inventory that has not moved as rapidly as the winery would like.
