Obama knew about Geithner's tax problems:

That was after Obama nominated him. It's obvious that his staff didn't think it would stop him. I doubt if Obama was ever asked to look at the decision again. We will never know for sure.

Oh, I getcha. Could be. Still 6 weeks means they knew about this problem back in Dec long before Obama was to be sworn in and decided it didn't matter. Is a nominee by a president elect officially a nominee, I wonder. Anyway, Geithner could have been told to pull out like Richardson. And should have.
