I view this particular issue a little more differently. More like, "Meet the new boss, same as old boss..." What ever they are digging up (everything) they must find quite interesting. Kind of like the Stasi (who did not have current technology). This perhaps is what got Elliot Spitzer. Can this be abused? You bet. Will it be abused? Given human nature... I would bet yes. I am waiting for repeal of Patriot Act, but I think, holding my breath would be fatal.
