I totally agree with the average wage in Ontario being $22.50/hour. The secular trend that we are seeing is a more fair one in which the wage earners in the manufacturing base in Asia are making more and the consumers in the Western world are making less. This will continue over many decades until they are equal. This is true globalization.
This is why the reflation that we are seeing will only make things much worse. The destruction of money will cause a rise in the price of goods but it can not be passed equally on to wages of workers. This will result in a squeeze in the Western world and a boom in the East.
