There are some dangerous people at Gitmo. Most of the people at Gitmo were turned in by bounty hunters in Afghanistan in exchange for tens of thousands of dollars They weren't "captured on the battlefield" - that was mostly a LIE.

Now, maybe most of those people turned in by Afghani bounty hunters and labeled "enemy combatants" actually ARE - but maybe NOT. How the hell do we know? We paid for ANY chump they turned in.

If you never have to PROVE it, it never becomes a problem - leading to Bush's motivation of affording them no rights and suspending habeas corpus.

Ignoring the threat is what Clinton did and see where it lead - although the effort did distract Bush from so many things that needed attention - he did atleast this one thing right.

Except Clinton didn't ignore the threat and you're just talking your book.......a book that is badly outdated.
