I read a book years ago about the construction of European Cathedrals. It was historical fiction and told about where the stone was found, who the craftsmen were, how long it took and how arduous a task it was to build a cathedral. Some of them took centuries to build. I'd bet this one took at least a century to build.

I wish I could remember the name of that book.

When that picture came up, my breath just did a sharp intake! How very beautiful!!! She must have had the same reaction! It is so amazing to me, probably to all of us, that those magnificent cathedrals were built so many hundreds of years ago, and still standing. They were built without aid of cranes, or any of our modern equipment. The curved windows and doors all by themselves are unbelievably beautiful and had to be difficult to make and install...

Thanks!
