I wasn't suggesting that scientific theories are or can be just pulled out of thin air. That would make no sense.

If you agree that isn't science, then you must see that the ID "theory" isn't a scientific theory but a philosophical one. And any scientist who claims it is science is full of it.

I personally don't care if they teach ID. I just insist that it not be taught as science. Kids need to be taught to understand and value the scientific method. Otherwise they have no basis for challenging proffered junk ideas.

I have absolute, irrefutable, empirical scientific proof of the existence of the tooth fairy.

Every single time I lost a tooth and I put it in an envelope under my pillow, a quarter appeared in that same envelope in the morning.
