Hopefully, he'll come to see the light. NO country has succeeded in Afghanistan, ever.

Not what he campaigned on - but if he decides to stay, he better get working on what his goals are, as installing rule of law in that country ain't gonna happen outside kabul

What do you say to the overwhelming number of afgans who just want some peace and freedom? Are you an isolationist.
Apart from that i agree with your point about winning in afganistan over time. Not easy. Issue is Pakistan wild west. Al quada needs to be eliminated and thats where both afgan and pak taliban hang. Fighting a conventional type war in afganistan may not do the trick. We might be looking at new type of anti-terror war with Obama. Borders between Pak and Afg shouldnt be the deterrent.
