I'm not surprised that EDS and Perot were skeptical. I'm pretty skeptical myself, but I don't know enough about it to try to poke holes into it. If I had a full explanation of how it works, I would try to poke holes in it. But until then, I'll reserve judgement.

EDS and Perot are consulting firms, rather conservative ones at that. The year 2000 'problem' looks to them like a rather large opportunity, so any kind of a quick fix probably doesn't interest them much. I suspect their answer to him was along the lines of 'Prove to us it works, and then we'll talk.' He said he'll be able to show it in December, so we probably won't learn further details until that time.
