Granted. It is Iceland. 304,000 people on the entire island. A perfect petri dish experiment in collapse for us to watch. I have been reading that site for a few months and I believe it bears watching.

From down in the link about three fourths of the way:

“When the smoke is disappearing I am looking into the faces of two boys who are around 17-18 years old and I lowered by club and said: “Leave, please do it for me leave, I do not want to do this,” and they backed away a little. No one enjoys this, hitting rough waters with teenagers.”

That is how a police officer who got injured in the riot on Wednesday nigt, the events leading to that a roughly three kilo sidewalk tile was thrown into his shoulder.

Ha has not been working in the street police team for a few years, but was called in as a backup when it was clear where this was headed. “I have not used a gas mask since in the police academy and I was so surprised when the people gathered again after the gas, stormed towards us like crazy and i thought: Wait, does the gas not work?. I had no shield so the only thing I could do was hide behind the front line men. There was a constant rain of glass bottles and rocks and one was just waiting for the gas capsule to be shot and I know this happened very fast but it felt like forever while it was happening.”

Were undoubtedly in a life-threatening situation
Where he was hiding behind his co-workers he could see the man next to him collapsed. While the police officer who the reporter interviewed supported his co-worker into shelter he was hit by a rock himself.

“All the sudden I could feel this immense blow and soaring pain in my shoulder and found out later that a young man had taken a run-up with the rock and threw it at me. The adrenaline was on full blast and one was surprised and angry but then the pain grew more and more and so on the way to the emergency ward I felt like there was growing a new head out from my shoulder, there was such heavy bleeding into the joint.”

He said that he did not realize it until he heard the reaction of the doctors that the police was literally in a life-threatening situation. As a comparison he points out that in the Hringbraut case there was a man who died from the scull being broken in three places because of a blow, after being hit in the head with a fire extinguisher that weighed a little over three kilo, like the sidewalk tiles.

Will American Police or Military feel the same about our children? Highly doubtful.

You never heard the Icelandic expression "That party was a riot"?

Even 'Nylon' was playing at the party (Icelandic all girls band)
youtube.com

They have a long winded way of saying simple expressions:
