Thanks for the link. I don't have time to read the whole thing at the moment, but the change at the top seems to refer to the change Mr. Bemer wants to the character set to represent the century with 2 digits. His clients can agree to this without it being made a standard like ASCII. Hell, the government probably has the most challenging year 2000 problem of all: perhaps they make it law, just so they can use his solution.

Anyway, further down, there are some things that seem to back my other points:

Sounds like jumps to me..

'10. Automatic substitution of CDAIs (Candidate Decimal Arithmetic Instructions) by a jump/transfer is to a new location where that CDAI is replicated, followed by a return to the main program if it operates successfully. If it does not, action upon one or more Bemer digits is assumed., and the next jump/transfer is to a placement subroutine which conditions the oprands so they WILL be accepted by the arithmetic registers in full form. Upon completion of the operation, the necessary and desirable conversions to the Bemer digit form are made. Then a return to the main program.'

And doesn't sound like he wants to play with the linker or compiler:

'1. Automatic scan and analysis of object modules, not source, by a computer program which takes into account the opcodes, addressing, and other characteristics specific to the CPU of the computer running that object code.'

P.S. I hope we aren't debating this to legitimize TPII? Although BMR Software confirmed to me that TPII is a possible licensee, penny BB stocks scare me.

P.P.S. Can someone tell me how to make things bold and italic? Thanks.
